Joining Pikemasters is a wonderful and rewarding experience for both new model railroaders, and experienced model railroaders. No matter what your experience level, we have a large pool of model railroaders of all levels who can provide you with assistance or advice on how to work various things on your layout. Be it constructing scenery, laying track, wiring, working on rolling stock, or working on locomoties, somebody here will be able to show you what you need to do.

In addition to the large experience pool, you will be able to help out with construction and improvements on our layout. Even if you have little to no experience, there is something that you can do with the layout with a little help from our members.

And, of course, you get to bring some of your trains over and run them on a truly huge layout!

Requirements

Before you join Pikemasters, we require you to be a member of the NMRA (National Model Railroaders Association). Our club has insurance through the NMRA, but as part of the deal, the NMRA requires that all our members be current NMRA members. To view the NMRA website, go to http://www.nmra.org/. To skip straight to the section where you join, click here. Adult NMRA memberships are $36/year, $24/year for those 18 and under, and $7/year for family members of an NMRA member.

Once you have completed the NMRA application, fill out the form below, and bring it with you to one of our business meetings, which are held on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00PM at the City Auditorium. If you want to become a member, you are also welcome to come on a regular night when we build stuff to check us out. However, a club officer may not be available to take your application.

Dues

Once you have filled out the membership form and turned it in, you will be an associate member for four months. During this time, dues are $8 per month. After being in good standing for four months, the club will vote during the business meeting to make you a full member. Once you become a full member, dues are $15/mo. Dues are used to pay the rent for the room, purchase supplies, and cover general operating expenses.
